Mommy Lhey Stamps

Hello there all my fellow planner addicts! I wanted to show you some fun things you can do with the awesome stamp sets from Mommy Lhey!

July is always a busy month for me! My daughter celebrates her 7th birthday this month and as wedding photographer, July is always a busy wedding month.  Lots to do and lots of things to plan and stay organized with.

That’s what I love about Mommy Lhey’s stamps…it seems like there is a stamp for everything to track and keep organized in your planner.  And the best part is that they are all so CUTE!!

I used my stamps this week to prepare and layout my week in my Erin Condren Life Planner, so let’s check it out!

Whenever I preplan for the upcoming weeks I use the square sticky notes that fit perfectly in the Erin Condren planner boxes.  It’s convenient because I know what’s coming up ahead before I decorate for the week.

This week I wanted a fun summer vacation theme so I focused my colors on the Mommy Lhey Take Me To Hawaii Stamp Set.

I chose to work with bright green and pink colors and gray this week.  A quick tip I love to use when I want a thinner washi tape strip in my planner is to use my Fiskars paper trimmer to cut it in half.  It works perfectly and makes it easy when you don’t have a lot of thin washi tape designs to choose from.

When my washi tape was in and where I want them I then used the big aloha stamp from the set and used both pink and green ink to make an ombre effect.

Such a pretty result!

From there I wanted to add a lit bit of color to the opposite side of the weekly layout so I used an ink dauber with some of the pink and green ink.  It added a little colored shadow effect and then I stamped over it with one of my favorite Mommy Lhey check box stamps.

I then went around and used more stamps to organize my week.  I’m so happy with the result!

So where can you get your own Mommy Lhey Stamps?  You can find all of her gorgeous stamp sets here!

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your month!

Easy 5 Ingredient Crockpot Chicken Tacos

By boyfriend has been in a taco mood lately.  When I ask him what he would like me to cook for dinner his number one answer lately has been...tacos!

I wanted to try something new this week that was quick and easy to put together.  First thing that comes to mind is to use my crockpot.  I went to the grocery store, picked up a few ingredients, threw it all together, and the result...DELICIOUS!  The best part is is that it only takes 5 ingredients, depending on how your serve it!

So what do you need?
-Crockpot
-Chicken Breasts ( I used 3 large ones)
-Packet of Taco Seasoning
-1 can of corn (Or you could use frozen)
-I can of Rotell (I picked up the mild)
-I can of black beans

Optional:
-Taco Shells
-Guacamole
-Salsa
-Sour Cream
-Spanish Rice

So how do you make this delicios dish?  Easy peasy!

1.  Lay the thawed out chick breasts on the bottom of the crockpot.

2.  Sprinkle about half of the taco seasoning packet on top of the chicken breasts.

3. Pour the corn on top of the chicken.

4.  Next is the can of Rotell.

5.  Rinse the black beans and put those on top.

6.  Finish by pouring the rest of the taco seasoning packet on top.

I put the crockpot on low and cooked for about 4-5 hours on low.  After checking if the chicken is fully cooked (which it should be), shredd it.  Mix all the ingredients all together and your done!

My family served it on taco shells with mexican rice, salsa, sour cream, and guacamole.  Although your can also enjoy it plain in a bowl.  Both ways are delicious!

I hope you and your family enjoy this dish as much as mine did!

I have gotten many many requests to share some of my stickers that I have made for my Erin Condren.  I thought what not a better way than through a blog, and that being said, it was what helped pushed me to start XOXO, Shayla Jo.

These stickers are a fun way to spice up any planner, but were created to fit perfectly in the boxes of the Erin Condren Life Planner.  Through many trials and error, and a few tutorials, these work great!

What you'll need:
-My downlodable file which you can get here!
-Printer
-Scissors/Paper Trimmer
-Avery Shipping Labels (Full Sheet)

Once the file is downloaded, print the file from your computer onto an avery shipping label and using your cutting tool trim them to size.
